I wanted to make a lot of top-down photos of my projects without having to setup a tripods or any other mount mechanisms for each photo shoot. Wanted solid and permanent installation which would still leave my desk obstruction free.
To replace tricky to mount tripods on a wall, decided to do a less destructive installation. Instead of a wall mount, I did a 'rack' mount which is on a side of my desk. Allows me to mount a small square carbon fiber tube to it. And mounting on the other side a quick release mechanism. This permanent setup is allowing me to attach fairly heavy camera quickly, while not obscuring my workspace and being able to do decent top-down photos of my projects.
Later I was using epoxy glue on some other projects and I had leftover mixed epoxy which I poured over the print to make it stronger, however even before it felt rock solid.
Design is parametric and adding the source files so anybody can tweak it to their desire.
