Throttle cable on a Polaris MSX jet ski has a thin shell that aligns the cable at the end where the steel cable exits a larger sheath and enters another smaller sheath going up to the throttle sensor. I had two instances of older cables with cracked alignment shells which caused the two sheaths to bow thus negating the throttle action of the rider.
1) Remove the cable end from the throttle sensor so that the sheaths can separate.
2) Remove the broken alignment shell (about 3/4 of an inch) from the larger sheath down to the solid part of the cable.
3) Feed the steel cable through the thin slot in the printed device in between the two sheaths.
4) Slide the printed device over the larger sheath (quite snug) and make sure the smaller sheath also fits against the part.
5) Re-attach cable to the throttle sensor and check for smooth operation.
