This leg clamp bracket is designed to firmly hold the PMC-Eight electronics box to the EXOS-II tripod mount 2 inch diameter leg. It has 3 holes so that three M3x30mm or #4-40 x 1.5in screws can be installed thus allowing this bracket to firmly grip the leg. The PMC-Eight box can then be slid onto the bracket. This bracket replaces the small aluminum block attached to the leg with velcro that is supplied with the mount and is much more robust and professional looking. This design prevents the box from sliding down the leg, rotating around the leg or falling off.
The EXOS2 GOTO mount is sold by Explore Scientific as a low to mid range astronomy platform. I use it to support my Explore Scientific 102 CF refractor telescope.
UPDATE (10-18-2018) I modified this bracket so that it functions as a support for the PMC-eight electronics box OR as a universal mount for other user designed items (I will be adding some of these soon). I provide the T-mount that the PMC-eight box requires and also two 3mm holes spaced 1 inch apart for M3 or #4-40 screws and nuts. Thus other items can be attached to this bracket and rigidly attached to the mount leg. The bracket still attaches to the leg with three M3x30mm screws.
Note: The geometry has been sized for using either #4-40 or M3 screws and nuts.
UPDATE (1-22-2019) I added a version for the 3 inch diameter G11 tripod leg. This also uses 1.25 inch #4-40 screws and nuts (or metric M3).
