The Damixa one-handle tap fittings are so simple and elegant that designing an alternative with the same principles in mind was a big challenge.

At first, all my ideas on new forms and functionalities where adding nothing but unnecessary complexity to the existing concepts, which are almost perfectly designed.

I soon discovered that a way to go was to use the existing technology, re-interpret the simple forms and add vivid details that wouldn’t obscure the overall simplicity but rather make it more noticeable.

The result is a more organic and colored concept – hence the name pingō (from the Latin word meaning “to paint” and “to decorate”.)
