Practical use of our 3D Printer -
Problem: broke the retaining part on my cell phone holster - so I used my calipers, measured out the old pard, then designed a replacement part in CAD - then printed out the part on the 3Dprinter and put my phone holster back together --> result, phone holster works again until factory replacement part (under warranty) arrives - end result totally cool 30min repair !!!
My son's holster broke on the same weak part 6 months ago . . . now his is fixed too . . .
NOTE: Called Pelican Warranty to get the "Lifetime Warranty" phone case/holster repaired and each time I can only get their voice mail (called 6 times, left detailed slow VM messages each time, with my phone number, and email requesting to please contact me) - after a week of waiting and still NO RESPONSE . . . repaired it myself, hopefully the'll call and stand behind their warranty soon, until then, just glad I have a 3D printer
