This is part 2 of 2 for a set of brackets and hinges designed to modify the action of a grand piano's sustain pedal. This modification makes it possible for the player to press the pedal by sliding their right knee to the left.
This thing contains the hinges for the aluminum bars that move the push-rod. The file can be modified in the customizer to accommodate aluminum bars of different widths and thicknesses.
The reason behind this pedal-mod is that it is being developed for a very specific need. It is intended for a piano player who will be unable to put pressure on the balls of his feet for a while and, therefore, needs another mechanism to be able to continue to use the pedals during that time. The end goal is also to create a system that makes it nearly effortless to keep the pedal pressed to sustain long notes.
This is under development so input, critique and ideas are welcome! :)
