Block XIII, which is very poorly preserved, shows a rider holding firmly his horse’s rein in an effort to mount it. He wears a chlamys and has his petasos hanging on his back. A second horse, with the bridle already in place, trots briskly as its rider depicted on the adjoining block XIV (Ακρ. 20028) helps another fellow horseman to restrain his horse. The horses’ bridles and reins were once made of bronze and fitted in the holes that are still visible on the muzzle and mane of the horse.
