UPDATE : I took a 90 second exposure at a dark sky site with this adapter and got the most amazing results. Image has been attached, to show what this is capable of.
VER 2 has lowered holes for the top facing bolts, for those of you with big lenses.
Adapter plate to connect Orion EQ-1 equatorial tripod with a DSLR camera. Very steady - i've taken 4 minute exposures with it, with the optional EQ drive accessory.
Print a little on the hot side (I used 210 for PLA) and high infill (40% here) for strength. Bottom side of the plate has a round circle for tightening to your camera with a socket. Other two holes line up with the EQ-1 piece, and hardware store bolts latch it down. Use 1/4 x 20 bolts all around.
I also printed with 4 outside perimeter layers, instead of the normal 2. Make it as solid as you can for astro photography.
