OO Scale Working Semaphore Signals by modelrailmusings

Last crawled date: 4 years, 8 months ago
These are simplified working models of some basic GWR semaphore signals in OO scale. The design emphasis is on ease of assembly and operation, at the expense of some detail and accuracy. These model are designed to be driven by Cobalt, Tortoise or servo motors mounted under the layout.
The basic model is of a generic GWR-type lower quadrant, wooden post semaphore signal with one or two arms. Left and/or right brackets with one arm can also be added. STL files for all variations are included in the .zip file. A file with alternative arms to convert the signals to upper quadrant is also included.
The models were built from ABS on a FlashForge CreatorPro with no supports or rafts. The signals should be built at low resolution (0.30mm) for speed and strength. The arms should be built at high resolution (0.12mm) for detail.
Assembly instructions are included in the .zip file. The only extra components required are one or more lengths of 0.5mm brass wire/rod, commonly available from hobby shops.
