Introduction:
Since I saw the first time a top heat grill, I always wanted to have one but the high price scared me so I had to look for alternatives. I found this forum, which is a german based gril forum and they have this thread helping each other to build one themselfes.
https://www.grillsportverein.de/forum/forums/eigenbauten.56/
The main thread was closed because of some dumb ass, sucking out the information from the community and turning it into making money. They didn`t know how to use CAD software but they got help a lot. But if you ask them for the drawings they wanted to have money or they were trying to sell you the metall sheet parts instead. This is bull shit therefore I just started to merge all information from the threads into my design and now I am realising it to everybody. From the community for the community!
If you are not aware what this grill does, look into google for the german word "Oberhitzegrill".
Files:
You receive today all my work on this project, including
Inventor Files
Exported Step Files
DXF files for sending it directly to your laser cutter
PDF files for better overview
STL files again: just for visualization
Versions:
Blank Version
For fully customization, the dxf files are missing since this version is a not ready to cut version.
Minimal Version
If you just want a funtional top heat grill
Modern Version
This version looks much more nicer. Cost difference at the laser cutter are 50€.
Material:
All parts are laser cut parts.
Important: All parts are cut and designed for 3 mm V2A stainless sheet metall except part E-1004-01 & E-1005-01. This two parts are from 1,5 mm V2A stainless sheet metall.
I have used following company to have my stuff lasser cut:
http://www.geerscutting.com/
If you are from Germany, you should use them. They are by far the cheapest company out there.
Material number identification:
E-1XXX-XX
Should not be touched except you have a different burner
E-2XXX-XX
Are for custimization
E-oXoo-oo
Is the index number for the version:
0 = Blank
1 = Minimal
2 = Modern
E-ooXo-oo
Is the index number for variation
E-oooX-oo
Is the index number for part
E-oooo-XX
Revision number so far 00
Folding parts:
Following parts need to be folded acordingly:
E-1004-01
E-1005-01
E-XXX7-01
You should go to your local mechanic have them let it made.
The burner:
The design is for a gas heater from the company Rothenberger Industrial. It is the ECO version 2270 with Piezzo ignition. Drawing are attached to check if you can get a similiar gas heater in your country. At this point: I will not make any custimization for any other heaters!
Update:
I am still waiting for the folded parts in the meanwhile I have assembled the feet on the ground plate and the heat burner is also assembled.
Additional parts needed:
4x knurled nut "long version" to use as feet (DIN ISO 466)
4x press in nuts M6
12x M6 washer
8x M6x16 screws
4x M6 nuts
12x M5x16 F screws (DIN ISO 7380)
12x M5 nuts (DIN ISO 934)
consider to use here also the small parts made out of stainless steel
Assembly:
I have currently not the equipment to make an assembly video of the parts and the burner. Tip me and I might consider it in future.
So far, you can use following video for instruction:
./watch?v=cq3Ygv2qFSM
FAQ:
none at this point
Important! If you like the design please consider to support my work with a small tip thru this website. Thanks!
Update:
Just added some pictures with the final results. Grill is still working great!
