Teorie, které vysvětlují, proč byl severně od Lednice vystavěn štíhlý Obelisk, jsou dvě. Ta první vypráví o tom, jak na místě, kde dnes monument stojí, dostal kníže od manželky pohlavek. Pro to by mohl svědčit fakt, že domorodci neřeknou Obelisku jinak než „Facka“. Různé verze pověstí, které najdeme zapsané ve starých knihách a památnících, se neshodnou v tom, čím si šlechtic takovou potupu vysloužil. Jeden historik tvrdí, že propil a prohrál v kartách celou vesnici. Jiní povídají, že byl kněžnou ztrestán za nevěru. The obelisk, built in 1798 was restored on the occasion of its 200th anniversary by combined contribution of councils of Lednice, Podivin, Rakovice, district (regional) council in Breclav and Historical Institute in Brno. This obelisk is the memorial of armistice between Napoleon and emperor Frantisek II, in Campo Formio in the year of 1797, built by Alois I.
