Quercus robur is commonly known as the English oak, Common Oak or French oak. It is native to most of Europe, and to Anatolia to the Caucasus, and also to parts of North Africa.

It is a large deciduous tree, with circumference of grand oaks from 4 m to exceptional 12 m
