Nuc Hive Top Feeder by ljbrumfield

I made this to go in the place of a jar feeder to put dry sugar on nuc colonies. Drill a 1 - 1/4" hole in a container that will fit inside a feeder shim or empty super above a 5 frame nuc. Glue the base through the bottom and glue the cone on the inside of the container. Fill up the container with dry sugar to the top of the cone and place on top of where your jar feeder used to sit. (remove screen where applicable)
I modeled my stuff after these hive top feeders that I use on my 10 frame hives so the same cups from here will fit over what I've made. These feeders work great (no affiliation), but they wont fit in a 5 frame hive body. With these the bees drink the sugar water faster than when in a jar and hardly any dead bees like you find in frame feeders.

I made the cap to use when you're filling it up to keep sugar from falling in the hive and keep bees from coming out. I made the bee escape to use maybe when you need to add sugar put this on the day before and they will all be gone out of there the next day? Both of these parts will also work with the Beekeeping-2L-4-Pint-Economy-Rapid-Feeders.
