Newportman International GP2 Car

With the team now very safe financially they decide to set up the Team Newportman Driver Development programme. As part of this they set up a new GP2 team to be called Newportman International in 2006. The team acts as a reserve team and development team for Team Newportman with both reserve drivers used for the team. They nickname this car the NMI03, because the previous year they have been using the old standard Dallara chassis. The team, with Alfonso Delgado win the drivers’ championship with rising Newportman protégé Scott Jones not far behind in 4th.
