Neue Synagoge in Mainz

The new synagogue in Mainz was inaugurated on 23rd September 2010 after over ten years of planning and construction. The Cologne architect Manuel Herz modeled the building after the five Hebrew letters of the word קדושה (Kedushah, benediction). The building is located on the site of the old main synagogue of 1912, which was renamed Synagogue Square.
