The Mesh Topology
Description:
A mesh network uses each node to relay data within the network, a mesh network can be both wired and wireless.
Advantages:
Due to each node being connected to at least two other nodes, A broken node won't interrupt the transmission of data within the network. Additional devices within a mesh topology will not affect its network connection. Additional devices actually improve traffic.
Disadvantages:
Administration of the network is difficult, due to there not being any single administration device, as all nodes rely on each other and do not use servers, Hubs e.t.c.The set-up cost of wired mesh networks is high due to the amount of connections which must be established using individual Ethernet cables.
