The Mundum Chess set was inspired by the negative space of the Classic Staunton Pawn. It also drew from that aspect to turn "hidden" weights inside out and instead showcase them in a way that informed the design. Then I attempted to breathe some character into the features of the head while also rooting it in the classic recognizable style. The shape of the weights was inspired by the world-wide aspect of chess. In this design, ball bearings of various sizes are used.
The size of ball bearings required for one set:
3/4" x 16 for Pawns.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SHX8BB9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1" x 12 for Rooks, Bishops, & Knightshttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08DHXMVMN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1.25" x 6 for Queens & Kings.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RBZ168N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
There are 2 other versions available: 1 without any weight cut-outs at all, and another with an internal cavity to weight it with sand and glue or lead shot.
I will be adding a chess board stl (shown in renders), as well as a multi-part case for the pieces. I will also be uploading pics once I've finished printing!
