This is a first go at a controller case for the Rambo 1.4 board I'm using on my MPCNC. The board itself is made by Ultimachine (ultimachine.com) though I ordered mine through V1 Engineering (www.v1engineering.com).
I tried other cases but found most to be a little "too" precise and cramped. The wires didn't enter where I wanted and inside the box seemed needlessly cluttered. All you really need is the base case to mount the board and supports two 40mm fans.
I also ordered an LCD with SD card reader from V1 and made a support for it which mounts to the base's lid. I wanted it to have a fairly generic "terminal" feel and easy for anyone to design a replacement for whatever screen they might have. Since the SD reader is at the back of the LCD, the cover I made is boxier than I would like. When I get an extender for the reader, I'll design a cover that sits more flush.
Shopping List
For the fans, M4 x 12mm screws (x8) and M4 nuts (x8)
To attach the Rambo Board, M3 x 6mm screws (x4)
To attach the LCD, M3 x 10mm screws (x4)
To attach the rest, M3 x 6mm screws (x4)
I mostly used old screws previously removed from things, otherwise It's about a $3 trip to the hardware store. Also, if you intend to attach this to a table, there are four mounting holes to do so. I just used some old pan head screws and mounted it to my bench.
Lastly, I didn't want this to only work for my setup as a CNC so there are some generic ports on the power supply side. Should be enough for whatever else you need to plug in. I made some simple port covers to keep some dust from coming in but it's hardly a closed system.
I'm also attaching the Fusion 360 file so feel free to tweak as needed.
