The Moto Guzzi V85TT comes with a plastic plate in the rear rack for carrying items. It's nice, but I like to attach stuff without messing up OEM parts, and maybe make something better.
In the files section there is a "plastic plate" - that's the finished item.
There is also a file "Top Plate Template" - this is a piece to be used with a router table to create the part out of aluminium or other material. In the end I don't think it's needed - the "plastic plate" is surprisingly strong.
When I printed my plate, I printed it upside down from how it's used. I started with black filament (for the top part you see) then changed to red for the webbing underneath, just for fun.
The top was printed against my "imperfect" printer bed so I treated the top with:
a light sanding with wet 800 wet and dry
a coat of XTC-3D with black mica filling
finally sanded with wet 1200 wet and dry
The features of this plate:
M6 countersunk screws and nyloc's attaching the plate to the bike rack
it has mounting points for Suzuki Tank Ring mounts - more or less regardless of what brand tank bag you might like to mount on the back plate
a pair of countersunk holes for 1/4 UNC mounts to something like a GoPro or microphones underneath (vroom vroom)
some openings front, back and sides for straps to fit, and be contained somewhat
I also have other mounting devices that go underneath (where the two countersunk holes in the tank ring are found)
Some GoPro mounts might interfere with the bike rack flange parts - just remove a little plastic from the GoPro mount to make clearance. I didn't want to move the holes so... Or lazy...
