Although I am reluctant to promote the idea that “money grows on trees”, my wife for years has given our young nephews and nieces miniature Christmas trees with rolled up $2 bills tied to the branches. Since I am a retired product design engineer that has recently gotten into 3D printing, she asked if I could design some small ornaments that would hold $1 coins that could be hung on the small tree as a variation on the traditional money tree.
I came up with a star and a bell that I printed in gold, a snow flake, snowman and angel that I printed in white, a Christmas tree and holy leaf that I printed in green and several traditional ornaments I printed in red. I designed the coin holders for a US $1 coin which is 1.047” (26.7mm) in diameter, but the parts could be scaled in the slicer to accommodate most any round coin that is 20mm to 30mm in diameter. I have included a snow flake that I designed to hold the US Kennedy half dollar coin and a “bow” to hold paper money.
I use the Craftware slicer which I think is the best I have found.
