Remix and addition to Termlimit's storage box expansion to STTrife's original Resistor Box design.
I'm a huge fan of modular storage, and I have a LOT of small parts I work with (primarily electronics) so adopting a consistent storage system has been a goal of mine for a while.
For my workshop I've been slowly printing and transferring my electronic components into storage, but I prefer a low-visibility pull-tab and maximum label size, so that even tiny section drawers for resistors can have clear labelling.
This in mind, I've designed several variation shelves separated for small parts. Hopefully they're useful for someone else too!
Size notation:
L = Length across face of shelf, in multiples of the standard shelf length
D = Depth of shelf, in multiples of standard shelf depth
H = Height of shelf, in multiples of the standard shelf height
I've also added a LxDxH - X sections notation, where 'X' clarifies how many internal sections/labels the shelf has.
Examples:
1x1x1 is a standard shelf for a single square container, where 4 of these shelves fit in one container
2x1x1 is a double-length shelf, for double length containers, where 4 of these shelves fit in one double length container
2x1x2 is a double-length, double-height shelf, where 2 of these shelves fit in one double length container
2x1x1 - 4 sections is a double-length shelf with 4 internal sections, for double length containers, where 4 of these shelves fit in one double length container. 4 of these would yield a total of 16 labelled sections in a full container!
As I design more custom shelves, I may add them here as well!
