NOTE: All files were modelled in inches. If your software shows the parts as a very small size, scale the model by 25.4 to get it to the proper size, or set the dimensions to inches.
This thing is a fully printable, fully expandable, and modular filament spool holder. The holder can be printed in full using a printer with at least 12x10" (305mmx254mm) capabilities. If your printer is smaller than that, I've uploaded a second version which is identical to the first except made with interlocking studs in four parts, allowing you to print this thing using a printer with 7x5" (178mmx127mm) capabilities! That is a whole lot of spool holding for only a little space! Some of the great aspects of this design are:
-Fully Modular. If you want to hold ten spools you just need to increase the space between end caps.
-Separate Compartments. If you want to mount different plastics, just print an extra endcap and add it on. No need for a redesign!
-Modular footprint. While this particular thing has about a 10"x8" footprint, you can add or subtract depending on your needs.
-Less plastic and less money. The cutouts in this design not only look good, they save plastic and time too!
-Stylish. The cutouts and curves of the design make it visually appealing in your work station.
-Easy Carry and Breakdown. This thing has built in handles so you can just pick it up and go.
-Tool-less Assembly/Disassembly. No tools required to build this thing! And if you ever want to break it down or change spools, it takes less than 2 minutes and no tools!
-Unlimited hub size capacity. This thing was optimized for Makerbot "Large" size spools, however any spool will fit. Simply alter the Outer Diameter of the spool hub bushing for the size of your hub hole, print, and get back to business as usual!
-Tangle-Free Filament Guide. With a build in filament guide, your prints will never be ruined due to tangled or broken filament. The guides keep everything organized so you don't have to stress!
