Needing of a desktop 3D scanner for my activities, I was very interrested by the CICLOP designed by a Spanich guy. I’ve also see this great project on Kickstarter named FreeLss : another great desktop scanner. The first one is drived by an Arduino Uno and needs a computer to build the files using the Open Source Horuis software, the second one with a Raspberry Pi which is computer free.
Both files and soft could be downloaded on the Internet site dedicated to those projects.
I found a lot of very usefull information on Bill's assorted rambling blog, and also on the Atlas 3D users Google group. I noticed that the reseller ReprapUniverse is selling the 3D Raptor kit where you can find the same electronics and principle used for the Atlas FreeLss.
I coudn’t decided between both and that is why I’ve decided to design a structure which make possible to test each of them and also could accept electronics and camera improvements.
I also want it to be very simple with a small number of parts easy to print and to buy on the net.
