"Shinonome Frame Corporation's frames had never been known for their efficiency, and realizing this, it began to develop a mech that would be practically barebones in relations to the other feature-laden frames. Instead of a full-fledged flight system, it was to be equipped with jump jets, which used less fuel and had a longer service lifespan. However, the basic design had a few unique perks, including long-range guided cluster bombs that travel in large arcs, missiles stored under the forearms, and a streamlined physique determined to make the most of the jump jets. When the SN-5 Janpa reached the market, a small number of private soldiers purchased and modded them, pushing their SN-5s' limits to a much greater extent than Shinonome had ever envisioned."
