Put in my final renderings and uploaded the models. I just have to finish the technical drawings and will upload those. Just want to
re-iterate that the resevoir is an optional item and shown for demonstration purposes, The frame design and circular mesh is the main focus here. The circular net allowing for greater surface area and greater wind contact from all directions, yet still compact in size...

All the materials can be bought raw from suppliers and then only need to have basic manufacturing operations applied to them such as drilling, cutting and welding, no expensive specialty operations are required. The trough can be made by heating and bending plastic plumbing pipe. All the hardware can easily be bought off the shelve from a hardware supplier. The net shown here has a radius is 2 foot vs. 4 foot wide which would give an approximate total area of 56 square feet. Obviously, once the net was removed from the framing, it could be folded or rolled up tighter for transportation.

I changed the lower reservoir and designed in three portable tanks that can be removed if needed. The reservoir is no longer permanently mounted to the post, I added a slot so that it can be slide out from the post for maintenance and change out etc.. Obviously the large reservoir is not a necessity, as any old jug will do, but my design proposal is just trying to illustrate some of the things that could be possible. More updates to follow.

I have a little spare time, so why not offer a quick concept...my design intent for this project is to focus on simplicity (of assembly, materials etc.). maximizing surface area per foot print and aesthetics, since they will be erected in large numbers, it's important that the benefits aren't outweighed by other factors such as decreased real-estate value etc. due to the aesthetics etc.

I thought I'd try a round barrel design to maximize the surface area per given foot print. Definitely don't claim to be a specialist in the area of condesation dynamics but to me this design seems feasible, perhaps NBD can chime in wether something like this would be more or less efficient for fog capture, are there any drawbacks to having the sheet in this format? You technically can fit more sheet per area and no need to worry so much about wind direction.....????

The framing is all hot rolled steel tubing, standard sizes, the rings that hold the fog net would be made from aluminum and welded together as part of the manufacturing of the kit, their height is adjustable as well as their overall position relative to each other, meaning you could easily change the size(height) of the net on location, on the fly without rebuilding the frame. The net is simply held on with spring tension, a wire lock can be snaked through the eyelet's for added security.

I've designed an integrated, permanent resevoir system( a detachable resevoir can still be used) which would be rotomolded, it sits at the base (hosing not shown, will be added). The resevoir will have a simple electric pump powered by a battery hidden in the steel tube and recharged by a small solar cell at the top of the structure. The whole structure is 16.5 feet in height, held down with four tension cables. The MiSTREE, fognet barrel, can easily be moved by hand from 1-3 meters in height off the ground and locked back into place.

Stay tuned..
