I recently switched to the Google WiFi mesh network because of some connection issues between my ASUS RT-AC3200 and certain smart-home devices (various connection / offline issues, etc). Additionally, while I've always loved the power of the RT-AC3200, it suffers the same issue of all routers, and I have almost no wifi at the front of the garage. I had used a cheap, bridged, ASUS modem to work around the problem, but it just didn't cut it. So, here I am with Google. #FingersCrossed that some of my problems are solved (and new ones don't develope).
Anyway, staying out of any other discussions on the matter, the Google WiFi, in my opinion, is a nice looking and minimalist device. It's wrapped LED is rather pretty and can communicate a lot. So, while the only other mount I could find on Thingiverse is amazingly put together (see joshdanielsjr's thing 2243674), it just covered the sides too much for what I wanted. So, here's my "minimalist" approach to a Google WiFI wall mount. I've tried to provide more than enough stability (don't what this falling off the wall during the "big one" out west), but I'm minimizing how much of the LED I'm covering. To the latter, I could probable get it down a bit more, but wanted to start with this first.
The only problem I have right now is, after hanging the Google WiFi up, I found that it doesn't actually have straight sides, but slightly angled. I've got my original up and working fine, but I'd like to revisit this and correct the side angles for a tighter fit going forward. I could just glue a cross bar, but think the original, support-less, design will still work with just that minor angling modification.
