I have noticed a number of people who enjoy collecting miniatures, and I like giving back to the community that has given me so many ideas and shared their own models. While I wait for the sink bowl to render, I think there are a few I still need to "Like"...
In an attempt to help someone potty train, I had downloaded (from here) and printed a fist-sized toilet with working lid, for all the stuffed animals to use when they needed. However, this youngster apparently was - correctly, in my opinion - taught that you wash your hands after a visit to the potty. What followed was my Inbox receiving a "we need a sink" request. And after my initial sink came an apologetic "do you also have a towel rack?" ...
I hadn't liked my first sink much. Sharp corners, the drain wasn't deep enough, lack of any kind of soap (yeah, I had started to predict the next requests). So instead of designing up a new towel rack, I added a swinging towel ring to the side of the sink. With a snippet of felt through the ring and snapping the base to the bowl, I seem to have appeased the youngster ... for now.
So I give you my mini sink. The one I modeled it after had wide-set handles for the water, though if anyone has strong feelings about it I'd be more than happy to add a model with rounded/crowned handles. I enjoy snap-fit models, so I apologize if things get a little snug from time to time. I often put a 0.1-0.2mm chamfer on connecting points that print on the glass to help with this, though I'm open to suggestions for better ways.
As usual, my STLs tend to be a wee bit on the large side, for which I apologize. But until someone complains, I'd rather give the higher quality original that I used, instead of a lower-quality model that can fit on a floppy (yes, upon a time we did once use the Save icons to store data).
Actually, for some reason the site doesn't want to render the high-res sink, so I am attaching an STL rendered with slightly better than "Fine" resolution.
