The goal of this project was to design a low profile, simple extended pan canopy for the mini talon. The canopy utilizes a standard servo in combination with a 3:1 gear ratio to extend travel without using a continuous travel servo. All hardware is 2M and 3M, bearings and servo used are linked below. This design is NOT perfect, but has worked well in my standards. Logged about 10 flights with it and has worked as expected. Please feel free to make edits or contact me with recommendations.
Note: The setup pictured utilizes two switchable fpv cameras
-Pros-
-In combination with a knob, camera can be positioned where ever you'd like and still -centers nicely
-Low profile and low part count
-3D printed gears mesh surprisingly well
-FPV Camera can be mounted with feed wires running through shaft
-Looks cool (obviously)
-Cons-
-Realistically only pans about 270 degrees when using standard radio control (this could easily be extended with a servo stretcher)
-Due to 3:1 travel ratio, pans look a bit jerky on video (this could be fixed with a servo slower or lowering the travel ratio)
