This is a tool used for calibrating your extruder steps per mm. It does not require any calculations, just insert it into your extruder (based on wade's style) and feed filament through it at desired amounts and record.
The short test is designed to let the user extrude and then cut the pieces from the end in order to measure their length.
The long test allows the filament to be extruded and held in place while using calipers to check the exact length. The body of the tester can be marked (or cut notches into it with a razor like I did) to indicate lengths.
