Microswiss_Cooling_Side_v1.1.stl for side mounting cables now uploaded.
Upgraded features are as follows:
better nozzel visability
an extra parts fan screw hole for stronger fan fixing
more space between parts fan the mounting plate surface
more defined jets to nozzel
BLTounch mount adjusted for less supports when printing
Hotend cooling duct replacement for the Ender-5+ with the Microswiss DD upgrade using stock fans v1.
I was not happy with the inefficient stock E5+ hotend cooling setup attached to the Microswiss DD full metal upgrade I did... so I redesigned the cooling duct with the stock fans in the same orientation.
I included in the design a vertically fixed positioned BLTouch bracket and cable strain relief for cables coming from the right hand side. Vertical entry cable strain relief for rear cable position coming soon. I have included a 1mm BLTouch packer if required so remember to adjust your z-offset.
I printed 5x prototypes each around a 5-6 hour print time until I was satisfied with the final design and clearances from my designed part to the hotend. This part does not impact anywhere on the machine.
There's a 2-3mm clearance from the printed part to the silicon sock and with testing for 30min at 230°C no melting occurred with PLA+, so far. Recommend printing in a higher temp resistant filament though.
There are two flat surfaces to print from making it your choice which orientation you want to print it. I'd recommend using tree supports using Cura either way.
Also tested the airflow angle of the 2 part cooling nozzels with the water dimple test, resulting in the dimple right under the hotend nozzel.
Anyway this design works for me. Have fun and donate if you think my time was worth it.
