We have a cell culture microscope without camera adapter and we wanted to be able to shoot pictures of our cell culture with it. This adapter can be screwed onto usual microscopy cameras and then slid into the eyepiece of the microscope. There might be differences in the thread and the eyepiece diameter. The cap is just a very simple slid on cap to protect the sensor of the camera when not in use.
