Low-poly historical accurate reconstruction of an portcullis mechanism for castle or town gates. A portcullis is a defense unit in ancient and medieval fortifications. It is usually made of heavy wood with metal covers on the outside. Sometimes it was used to smash or trap entering enemies, but usually it was closed even before an enemy would come close to the gate. The winch is operated by two handheld levers that have to be repositioned after each 1/4 turn. A metal latch prevents movable parts from unwinding during this process. The file includes: Gate house wall section including an upper level wooden floor Wooden portcullis with metal fittings Winch with lever, latching and rope ONLY IN MAX-FILE: 2 animations (one falling portcullis and one for hoisting it back up) Polys/Verts Wall segment with gate and slits for the portcullis (312/328) Wooden floor (818/864) Winch with lever (836/940) Portcullis (5,673/7,114) Per rope (7,892/7,932) Further Information Models are: Fully mapped and textured with PBR material (4k).
