Mecanismo de Antikythera

I had my first contact with this amazing device in 2006, by a science article of the online version of La Nación newspaper.

I was totally stuck by the fact that all my knowledge about the technology of classical antiquity was wrong.
Since then, I was gathering every article, mention, image, video, that mentioned it (I did translate into Spanish almost all of the articles).
From the beginning, I wanted to make a functional 3D model of the Antikythera mechanism. But, in general, the articles refer to the scientific, astronomical and historical topics, without emphasis in a detailed description of measures or positions of parts.
So, I lead my own “archeological” investigation, not by the study of mechanism’s remnants, but by crossing information between different sources.
Here is a very functional version of Antikythera mechanism. I'm still working on it and I'll update it regularly. My first idea was to build it, but the laser cutting process (the only one, as I see, that has enough precision to do it) is very expensive. My wife said: “That piece of s… or me” (I’m still considering it).
Seriously, I’m facing the fact that probably I never could build it, but I want to obtain a more realistic 3D model. So, if anyone could help me with materials and textures and rendering hints, I’ll be very grateful.

Note: Some people had problems with the assembly. So, I uploaded the 'Antikythera SW repaired.rar' file, which have a better file structure.

Tuve mi primer contacto con este sorprendente artefacto en 2006, por un artículo científico de la edición online del diario La Nación.
Quedé sumamente impactado por el hecho de que todos mis conocimientos acerca de la tecnología de la antiguedad clásica estaban errados.
Desde entonces estoy recopilando cada artículo, imagen, video o referencia que lo mencione (he traducido al español la mayor parte de los artículos).
Desde el principio quise construir un modelo funcional de la máquina de Antikythera. Pero en general los artículos se refieren a los aspectos científicos, astronómicos o históricos, sin enfatizar en una detallada descripción de medidas o posiciones de las piezas.
De modo que emprendí mi propia investigación "arqueológica", no por estudio de los restos, sino cruzando información de distintas fuentes.
Dejo aquí una versión muy funcional del mecanismo de Antikythera. Continúo trabajando en ella y la iré actualizando regularmente. Mi idea original fue construirla, pero el proceso de corte láser (el único que, según veo, tiene precisión suficiente) es muy costoso. Mi esposa me dijo "Ese pedazo de m... o yo" (lo estoy considerando).
Ahora en serio, me enfrento al hecho de que probablemente nunca lo pueda construir, pero quiero obtener un modelo 3D más realista. Así que si alguien puede ayudarme con trucos sobre texturas, materiales y renderizado, le voy a estar muy agradecido.

Nota: Algunas personas tuvieron problemas con el ensamblaje. Por lo tanto, he subido el archivo 'Antikythera SW repaired.rar' el cual tiene una mejor estructura de archivos.
