MATERIALS:
1 - GTT43A-TPx
2 - 4-40 PEM inserts
2 - 4-40 machine screws
The case is presented in 2 variations depending on the touch screen digitizer of your particular GTT model. The variations are:
Capacitive Touch - Similar to a smart-phone - fingers only
Resistive Touch - For use with fingers / stylus / gloves / outdoor / industrial.
Depending on whether your GTT is capacitive touch or resistive touch, you will need the appropriate file from this collection. Select just one of the files as follows.
For GTT43A-TPC - use "GTT43 Desktop TFT Case Capacitive.stl"
For GTT43A-TPR - use "GTT43 Desktop TFT Case Resistive.stl"
PRINTING:
The case fits on a 220mm build platform. A brim should not be required.
Print the case with the front surface down. This is the display mounting surface.
In this orientation, the print is angled on some planes at about 45 degrees. That is well within the capabilities of a one material printer and the walls are quite thick which eases printing.
ASSEMBLY:
Mounting the display is accomplished using 4-40 machine screws into PEM inserts which are pressed into the print. The design is made to accept these 4-40 threaded inserts and they are super simple to use. Matrix Orbital provides a small mounting kit for use with this (and other) design(s) which includes all the inserts and screws you need, as well as a little cable assembly for a power port on the back of the case.Display: GTT43AMounting Kit: MKDIY3D
Primarily this case is keeping your display under control, but if you wish to consider making it shiny and beautiful, have a look at this forum post about using Bondo to achieve a car like finish - but be warned that it requires some skill and patience if it is to come out nice.Forum Post
