IMPROVED! Create your own with 3d single model of dome, corridor and garage: print and personalized your mars base!
Mars Compact & Easy Base includes 7 different spaces:
Living Quarters: 2 floor, sleeping area upstairs and living area downstairs;
Food & Water Production & Storage: 2 floor, upstairs multilevel hydroponics, downstairs water storage and water purifier, large water tank & food deposit;
Control & Communication Center: 2 floor, upstairs large control & communication center, downstairs different base control areas;
Workshop & Resource Extraction Equipment: most important area of the base, includes tools for ordinary & extraordinary work, outdoor resource extraction equipment, and upstairs a large lab, for experiment and research;
Propeller & Energy Production: where the magic happens, in this dome are collect and synthesized propeller for mars rover and energy for the base, with different management: wind, sun and nuclear (for constant function);
External Landing Area: now we haven't vertical landing spaceship, but this can be used for helicopter, small drone, and external rover parking;
Propeller Storage & Garage: this dome have only one floor, and in this area there are garages, for veichles parking and reparation (drone, helicopter, rover, etc.) and propeller storage for the veichles, and a loft area for temporary docking or tool & scientific veichles equipments (like cameras, drillers, etc.).
6 of the 7 areas of the base will be covered with landing soil, after building ending.
The only uncovered area, obviusly, is the external landing area.
All base is built with only 3 modules: dome, corridor and garage.
Every dome have 2 floor, central stairs, for really large areas.
Every corridor have 2 insulating doors, for emergency quarantine.
Similary, garage have inbase and outbase doors, for enter and exit with different veichles.
For me this compact base, buildable with a large tracked 3d printer. It can permitted to build the space base from the earth, and send the astronauts at complete building.
The base can permitted different use or ampliation, considered the use or developments.
Now, on Mars is indispensable a full insulation from sunray and from the low atmosphere. To survive on the red planet the new human base must have security door for the air lock, a full implant for water recycling, for air renovation, and an efficient sysytem of energy generation.
On Mars, frequently strong sandstorm obviates solar power and wind power, the new base must have a secondary energy generator, maybe nuclear, to generate propeller for all the veichles.
The Mars colony can get a lot of minerals from the planet, to research and improve the base.
I suggest to send a large 3d printer to build the base. During the final stage, send the last part to complete the base, with a first access kit for the colonist. Later, at base complete, 15 colonist work in 8 hour shifts, 5 at time, (to cover all 24 hours). Any man or woman have a job to sustain the station and after can work on research, exploration, improvements and other.
