I purchased a Gussi steering wheel to be used on a Yamaha SX230, and the included wheel hub did not fit the boat shaft. The Yamaha appears to be a keyed shaft but has a pressed splined insert. I printed the attached part, and used 1/4 20 brass inserts Like these: http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/fasteners/Threaded-Inserts/press-inserts-thermo-plastics/1-4-20-reverse-slot-press-insert-brass-260-4-rs
To create a good bond between the new wheel and the hub addapter. I used longer #8 and #10 screws to attach the hub adapter to the hub, to make up for the thickness of the adapter. The thickness of the adapter will also push the wheel closer to the driver. This was a plus for me.
Printed on PETG. Worked like a charm and I did not have to return my ebay steering wheel.
The last picture shows the splined shaft with the provided hub to better explain the original issue. A puller might have brought the splines off, but I was unsure of my ability to re-insert as needed, and of the fit of the new hub over the shaft once the splines were removed.
