With my youngest at almost 18 months, I’m starting to grow a collection of pouch caps again. They come in all shapes and colors but a lot of them will fit a 1/2″ bolt you can pick up at the hardware store. Which is kinda cool. If you incorporate 3d printing you could make pouch cap wheels or pouch cap knobs for a cardboard play set (the pouch caps and anything you 3d print as the connector can be a choking hazard so if you make a toy be mindful of that).
One of the things I think about when I started to get a collection of these pouch caps is how this must be the toddler equivalent of how adults collect beer caps or wine corks. Which lead me to play around with this idea of a pouch cap map. Not sure yet if I’m going to build a bigger one or not but you could easily scale it bigger and do a different state or shape.
