I have Makita tools 18v but I wanted a Milwaukee heated hoodie or vest
so I look around Milwaukee has a 18v power adapter to run the heated gear from 18v Millwaukee batteries a little poking around and some help from friends at my local tool store
I got enough info
ok now the warning
this is a personal project if you chose to copy it you take all risks what ever they maybe and accept that this will probably void any and all warranties may or may not burn your house down or make your Brand X tool owner friends hate you I am not responsible for any damages this thing or the use of this thing causes.
first we need a jack to fit the plug on the hoodiehttps://www.aliexpress.com/item/5Pcs-3A-12v-for-DC-Power-Supply-Jack-Socket-Female-Panel-Mount-Connector-5-5mm-2/32599220409.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.262.BEmM73
now we did some digging foung the unloaded voltage of Genuine Milwaukee adapter is about 15.3 volts so we need a dc to dc buck converterhttps://www.aliexpress.com/item/5PCS-XM1584-Ultra-small-size-DC-DC-step-down-power-supply-module-3A-adjustable-step-down/32531438467.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.276.BEmM73
I would set this somewhere above 12v but below 14v to be safe
and just becasue Milaukee did it we will add a usb porthttps://www.aliexpress.com/item/Fine-6-24V-12V-24V-to-5V-3A-CAR-USB-Charger-Module-DC-Buck-step-down/32811446277.html?spm=a2g0s.13010208.99999999.283.BEmM73
now again from what I have read and seen looking at theses jackets this should also power the dewalt and maybe the bosh and possibly the snap on as well your mileage may vary. you might need a different plug or a different voltage setting but Really if you think about it this will let you run pretty well any small electronic device from a Makita battery say you need to put a router or something on battery power for a few hours pretty well anything that need 5-18v under 2a could be run from this
This is a work in progress my parts are on the way if anyone prints this before I do or has any good ideas let me know I am working on a low voltage cut off circuit to protect the batteries
