This is the standard service, ceremonial, and parade rifle of the UFS. This weapon is a development of the earlier M2 Rifle, with significant modifications to improve simplicity, manufacturing, and operation. It is a semi-automatic gas operated rifle with a detachable 10 round box magazine, however, 5 and 20 round magazines are availible. The weapon operates with a short-stroke gas piston mounted above the barrel. The rifle can be operated in manual straight-pull mode by turning the gas tube plug. The bolt locks back after the last round has been fired. A detachable muzzle brake is attached to reduce recoil, and can be swapped with other devices such as suppressors or grenade launchers. The rifle has a bayonet mount and a scope rail. The wood stock can be switched out for a polymer one. The weapon is chambered in the 8x55mm rifle round, but can also be chambered in 6x45mm depending on soldier preference. Caliber can be changed by swapping out the bolt, magazine, and barrel. The rifle has an adjustable aperture-ladder rear sight and a fixed front sight, with glowing inserts for night fighting. Maximum effective range is 1,500 yards (8x55mm) or 700 yards. (6x45mm) Field stripping is done by pressing the rear receiver button to remove the rear receiver cover. The recoil guide and bolt carrier can then be removed. This rifle is issued to riflemen, designated marksmen, ceremonial honor guards, and is the standard training rifle for recruits. #ceremonial #gas_operated #m2 #m6 #magazine #parade #recruit #rifle #rifleman #ufs #weapon
