This is M50x0.75 to M46x0.75 thread adapter for Delta Optical microscope, needed to use standard photographic filter (M46) on stereo microscope.
You can use UV filter to protect lenses from dirt and damage, as well as use polarizer to upgrade your microscope, as it probably have transmitted bright field so you can use second polarizer on the lightsource.
