This is an hypothetical repressentation of how could look the Moon during or shortly before the Late Heavy Bombardment. It was ploted using MATLAB R2016a on a gravity map of the GRAIL mission. While higher the gravity on the surface, higher the density behind it. This allows to shown the giant impact craters buried by the lava flows that formed the dark lunar maria. Although this, some craters may be formed after the Late Heavy Bombardment. During a relatively short period of time, late in terms of the formation of the Solar System, all the bodies were striked by asteroids, between 4.1 and 3.8 billion years ago (thousand of million in the long scale). The Nice model argue that the migration of the orbits of Uranus and Neptune caused the instability of the early Kuiper Belt, scattering smaller bodies inward, triggering a shower of asteroids on every body in the Solar System, including Earth. That's why every atmosphere-less object is heavily cratered, like Mercury, Vesta, Ceres, or Callisto. Bodies with adense atmosphere, like Venus, Titan, the Earth, and gas giants, remain relatively unaffected, and their craters were eroded. Other bodies, like Mars, Ganymede, Titania, Triton and Pluto, were partially resurfaced because of geologic activity.
The file's names explained: name_1_x_10_y.stl is 1 : x * 10y. So _1_6_10_7 is 1:600000000 or one in 60 million.
