The oldest of central London's main rail hubs, London Bridge has been rebuilt and re-modelled several times since the first platforms on this site in 1836. Half terminus and half through station, services are provided by Southern, First Capital Connect and South Eastern trains and require fifteen platforms in use to handle the traffic. At various times the station has been operated by the London and Greenwich Railway, the London and Croydon Railway, South Eastern Railway, London Brighton and South Coast Railway, Southern Railway, British Railways and (currently) Network Rail. Unusually for a post-war rebuilding, the LB&SCR arched roof was retained when the station was enlarged in 1978. As one of eighteen station owned by Network Rail, London Bridge has its own logo and colour scheme rather than those of a railway operator. As well as the bus station underneath the station concourse, 'London Bridge' is also a station on the Jubilee and Northern Underground lines. #London_Bridge #railway #station #train
