This is a set of snap-together parts for learning to use the Fadecandy LED controller platform.
Snap a Fadecandy into the base
Snap in an Adafruit 12-LED NeoPixel ring
Press three wires into the channels
Solder the wires in place and trim
Optionally print and attach a diffuser, mix and match
Program your LEDs with Processing, Javascript, Python, etc
This design is still a work in progress; I'll try to retain compatibility with the interface between the base and diffusers, but at this point there aren't any guarantees.
The base works with PLA, but ABS or PET will be a little nicer. For diffusers, try materials with various opacities. (Dyed white PET vs natural translucent white PLA, for example)
