Parametric, lightweight plate for an end effector for Delta-style printers. Accepts groove mount with a novel snap-in mechanism. Accepts magnets (ball-on-rod designs).
Built for Eric Sammut's Prometheus hotend, but should work for many others including E3D and aluhotend and really any hotend that mounts its fan directly to the heat sink. With minor modification, fan mounts could be added to this plate.
In the future, I want to build a version which raises the hotend to avoid losing build volume.
UPDATED: resolved the long render time and minimized a few more dimensions.
BIG UPDATE: I changed a few things about the design to make it lighter; also, I want to point out that I am using this part every day now and it works great. I have included an STL. The eventual goal of this plate is to be able to compensate for disparate diagonal rod lengths using the end effector plate to offset the magnets, as well as facilitate easy tool change-outs. The former would be accomplished by extracting the rod lengths out of a pointcloud of bed touches for a fully-calibrated printer. If anyone has any ideas for how I can recess the end effector (maybe somehow by raising the groove mount?) let me know.
