This is my first take on Star Wars Lightsabers. As it is a prototype I stuck to very basic shapes that allow for extensive customisation in the future.
I am planning to integrate the following features into upcoming versions:
A mechanism that holds the blade back when the opening of the handle faces downwards.
Mechanoid structures in the handle
LED lights and sound integrated in the back part of the handle. (This only makes sense when the blade is printed with transparent filament, of course)
Pneumatic system to release and draw back the blade.
Since I do not know when I will be able to implement any of the additional features, feel free to remix at will. I am afraid, the model will stay work-in-progress for a long time...
And one final remark: Please be cautious when fooling around with this thing. Depending on the strength and viscosity of the material you are using, the physical forces may cause pieces of your sword to break off. It's plastic, for heavens sake!
