UPDATE I printed one of the ball portion hex side down with the fillets under the fingers. my printers calibration and moist filament aside it looks great (although oversize ) i did take note though that the fingers are a retraction test to the max and if you have ooze or stringing issues it wont be pretty. I'm going to redesign the ball portion as soon as i can and i will post images of what i did manage to print. sooo .... Stay tuned ^_^
I needed Leveling feet for my various machines and I don't much want to pay $14-50 each for them so I designed these.
The bolt is a standard grade 5 hex head bolt 3/8-16 I have shown a 2" but any length you need should work. I chose Standard American sizes because that is what I have readily available if there is a need I can redraw these for any size hex bold you need. I intend to use these with Tee-Nuts pressed into the far side of a board and a lock nut on the bolt
I would likely think the ball ought to be printed hex side down the foot should be fine to print as is. I would also venture to guess that PLA is not likely a good idea as these parts are a snap fit and may snap your freshly printed parts if they are too rigid. I plan to get some of these printed soon to try them out as soon as I can.
Also you may find it beneficial to buy or make some rubber pads to put under this to add a bit of vibration dampening double side tape or a rubber rated super/ gorilla glue should work fine.
Also if you like my designs please tip me and/or request more things and I will gladly draw them as I have time to do so.
Missed something on the first go around... added radius under the retaining fingers to help with overhang problem that will likely arise. Also added one with a healthy chamfer inside in case you want to print it in its installed orientation due to over hang issues.
