leifeng pagoda, also known as imperial concubine pagoda and xiguan brick pagoda, is located on the leifeng of xizhao mountain on the south bank of west lake scenic area, hangzhou, capital of zhejiang province. leifeng pagoda was first built in 977 a.d. and was built by qian shu, king of zhongyi of wuyue, to offer sacrifices to buddha's bun hair. it is said that it was built to celebrate the birth of the beloved princess huang, so it was named "imperial concubine tower". later, it was gradually called "leifeng pagoda" because of its peak called "leifeng".
