Lego Duplo Car Coupler Repair / Replacement by barnr

My Nephew broke the coupler on a Lego Duplo trailer so naturally a had to fix that. I printed and tested version 1 and it works well. Version 2 brings a few changes to make it a more faithful reproduction but I haven't bothered to try it yet. The design isn't a perfect copy because I needed to add surface area for gluing and didn't want to rely on the layers to stay together when snapping two parts together.
I used side cutters to remove what was left of the original coupler then sanded down any remaining ridges. I sprayed accelerator on the trailer and put CA on the back of the coupler. I snapped the coupler onto another trailer to get the height right, centered it on the trailer and pressed firmly until the glue had set.
So far the repair seems permanent.
