Insted of welding the batterypack you could also solder it, but I do not recommend to do it.
The LEDs I used are 12V, the pack only has 8,4V. But it is intentional, I did not need full brightness (less blinding, more atmosphere :) ) and I wanted to keep it as small as possible.
