Rachid Karami International Fair grounds designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. The 10,000 hectare site comprises of 15 buildings. Although The design of the complex was completed in the late fifties, the futuristic shapes of the complex looks to the future with its geometric shapes such as The dome, the delicate parabolic arch, the floating open air theater, the helipad, and in addition the Lebanese pavilion with its light arches and emphatic delicateness . The complex was added to the World Monuments Fund’s list of 100 most endangered sites in 2006, in response to plans to turn the site into a theme park.
